Herewith is the preliminary draw (group games only) for the 2010 Davis Food Ingredients Tournament for the Hilton Petone Cup.

"A more detailed draw with times and pitch numbers will follow in due course but this should be enough info for now to enable everyone to plan properly. As usual the groups are seeded largely around final league placings from 2009."

Main points are:

  • Starts Sunday 21 Feb
  • Two rounds on Sundays, one round each on Mondays and Tuesdays
  • Wednesdays and Thursdays back up if cancellations
  • With two rounds Sundays looking at 3 pm and 5 pm kick off times.
  • Midweek games 6.15 pm kick offs (earlier if both teams ready as light can become an issue)
  • Knock out fixtures post group play all on Sundays

    "The first issue, and it's a good one to have, is kick off times on Sunday 21 Feb. With any luck the Phoenix will be playing a home semi final play off match at the Stadium. Even if they're playing away we will work the kick off times around the match so everyone has ample time to get to watch it. That may mean morning/noon kick offs, so Sunday teams please be prepared.

    Please advise if anyone needs to be added/removed to the address list. Email will be the main communication channel throughout the tournament although our revamped website should also be up and running by then.
